Legal Services

Legal Aid is available to clients who pass two tests.

Test one:

Is the allegation a sufficiently serious one? This might be in relation to your particular circumstances and not only the obvious seriousness of the charge which you face.

Test Two:

Financial eligibility. We suggest that you discuss this with us but you can try using the eligibility calculator at www.gov.uk/guidance/criminal-legal-aid-means-testing. If you are in receipt of Income Support, Income Based Allowance (ESA), Income Based Job Seekers Allowance or Pension Credit, you will automatically qualify for Legal Aid.
